Friends of the Rouge joins Newman’s Own Foundation $500K holiday challenge on CrowdRise

Help Friends of the Rouge win $150,000 by donating to its CrowdRise campaign. The Newman’s Own Foundation $500k Holiday Challenge is being conducted on CrowdRise, the largest crowdfunding platform for good. It is a friendly fundraising campaign for eligible U.S.-based 501(c)3 charities. Friends of the Rouge plans to use the funds to support communities making the Rouge River fishable and paddlable, beating back the spread of invasive plants and animals, and educating Metro Detroit children about stewarding their backyard river. Giving to this campaign will help restore the Rouge for future generations to enjoy.

Northville Art House Small Works Juried All-Media Exhibition – Nov 3 to Dec 16th

The exhibition includes photography, paintings, ceramics, fibers, jewelry and more – all measure 12 inches or less in all dimensions. All works are for sale and most can be purchased for less than $300, making them perfect holiday gifts.  You can visit Tuesday through Friday from 12-5 p.m. and Saturdays from 12-4 p.m.  This is a great way to find a unique holiday gift for the person that has everything!

Blood Drive—American Red Cross GIVE THE GIFT OF LIFE – Tuesday, Dec 12th
The American Red Cross will be at the Northville Community Center. With all the natural disasters happening around the world and here in the United States blood is in demand. Please give if you can!

2018 After Party Celebration – Thursday, Jan 4th – 11 am to 1 pm
So we didn’t get to celebrate the New Year together, it’s not too late! Get dressed up in your favorite party outfit and ring in the New Year with Music, Dancing, Appetizers and Prizes. The annual Yuletide musical celebration will take you on a musical sleigh ride around the world and back again from Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker and African Noel to one of our contemporary Hanukkah favorites, the Eighth Candle. Celebrating the sounds of the season, the Michigan Phil returns to beautiful downtown Plymouth at the Penn Theatre with fun music from the Grinch, Rudolph and the Polar Express.

Along the way we will enjoy a perennial favorite; our own mash-up of Stars & Stripes and Jingle Bells along with a unique treat featuring our timpanist Ray Riggs, performing a Concerto for Timpani and Strings and the ever- playful Leroy Anderson’s , The Typewriter.
