Telephone Scam Alert

By | February 3, 2019

Residents should be aware of a telephone scam which involves a caller identifying themselves as an IRS representative who demands the transferring of money cards to them to avoid arrest. Recently a resident in a neighboring community received this scam call which showed the call originating from 248 349-5100 which is the Northville Police Department Administrative Line.

A common practice of scammers is to use available technology that allows them to modify the information that appears on caller ID and residents should be assured that Police Departments will not contact anyone regarding tax issues.

If you receive one of these calls, do not give the caller any personal information or transfer any funds. Contact your local Police department to report the incident.
