Northville Woman's Club Celebrates 120 Years-0

What an exciting year for the Northville Woman’s Club.   As one of the oldest woman’s clubs in Michigan, and the US, they will be celebrating their 125th year with an opening luncheon/fashion show at Meadowbrook Country Club.

The club was originally formed as a study group with members researching and presenting programs on a myriad of topics from Thackeray and Shakespeare to history and current events. At a time when women had limited opportunities for intellectual pursuits, the club was an opportunity to network with other women in scholarly endeavors.  The club strives to present programs on a variety of topics from the arts and history to finance, travel and current events.

They meet at the First United Methodist Church on Eight Mile and Taft on the first and third Fridays from October until March. Guests and new members are always welcome. Each meeting has a  program or guest speaker and refreshments are served  elegantly with tea/coffee served using antique silver tea services. New members and guests are welcome.

Please contact, either Nacy Chwalik at 248-477-0033, or Nancy Kiernan  at 248-349-3310 for additional information.  Both live here, in Woodlands South.
