Tenderly—The Rosemary Clooney Musical—Meadowbrook Theater – Wed, February 21st – 10:30 am to 5:30 pm
From a humble Midwestern childhood in Northern Kentucky to topping the charts for nearly five decades, the story of Rosemary Clooney’s remarkable journey is
the focal point of the next production at Meadowbrook theater. The trip includes transportation, show ticket, and lunch at Kruse and Muer in Rochester, before the
show. Choose from 3 entrée items: Raspberry Chicken Salad, Tortellini & Grilled Chicken Ala Crème, or Broiled Lemon Crumb Scrod.

Intro to Bullet Journaling – Tuesday, January 9th – 7 pm
Start the New Year right by getting organized with Bullet Journaling! Bring a notebook of your choosing (blank pages or lined/grid/dot but lighter colored print is best). Basic set up and tips will be discussed. Examples will be shown and references will be handed out to you. If regular planners never seemed to work this could be the thing for you! A Bullet journal is a calendar/planner/journal/record keeper all in one. Track meetings, habits, make notes, financial planning….the bullet journal has endless possibilities.  Register here.

European Trains Pulling Back into the Library
Thursday, December 28 – 9:30 a.m. – 9 p.m. Friday, December 29 – 9:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Saturday, December 30 – 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. Tuesday, January 2 – 9:30 a.m. – 9 p.m.

The Great Lakes Chapter of the European Train Enthusiasts will beback at the Plymouth District Library this holiday season, with European model trains running through cities and countryside. The library’s main level meeting rooms will house the chapter’s expansive collection. It will consist of interchangeable modules, each measuring 2 by 4 feet. Four trains can be run simultaneously in a circular manner; passing such landmarks as a German beer garden, the Berlin wall and a Dutch windmill. A computer program directs all activity in the display and overhead wires convey the electricity needed to run the trains, similar to actual trains moving about in Europe.  This extensive display is free and open to the public

The Detroit Circus 2017 – Sunday, Dec 31st – 7 pm
High-flying aerial antics on fabric and trapeze, fire dancing, stilt walking, acrobatics, and more! These jaw-dropping performances are sure to thrill fans of all ages. Please note that this is an animal-free circus. Approx run time: 2 hrs

Wild Nights at the Detroit Zoo – December, 26-31.  5:30-9pm on weeknights and Sundays; 5:30-10pm Fridays & Saturdays
The Detroit Zoo will light up the night again this holiday season with Wild Lights, a spectacular light display.  For 24 nights, more than five million LED lights will illuminate trees, buildings and more than 230 animal sculptures throughout the front half of the Zoo.  Experience the magic of the Detroit Zoo in winter as you take in the lights and the sights and enjoy holiday entertainment and special activities for guests of all ages.

Holiday Nights in Greenfield Village – Select nights through the end of December
Take a lantern-lit journey into a living snow globe filled with live music, skating, fireworks and tons of winter wonder during America’s premier celebration of the season. Holiday Nights in Greenfield Village is like stepping into a Christmas card from the past – the golden glow from candlelit windows, the scent of roasting chestnuts, the sound of carolers in the distance, the jangle of sleigh bells. This is how the holidays are supposed to be. No wonder Holiday Nights has become the most popular holiday event in the region. Where else will you find lantern-lit paths, costumed presenters, horse-drawn wagons and Model T rides, plus Santa with live reindeer.
