    • Tour five beautiful, privately owned Northville homes that have been decorated top to bottom for the holidays! Find inspiration for decorating your home while raising funds for your community. Tickets are $25.00 if purchased in advance $30.00 day of. Tickets can be purchased in Northville at Pear-Aphemalia/Gardenviews/Haven/Chamber of Commerce or by calling 248-374–0200 or online at www.northvillecommunityfoundation.org.
  • Shop Til You Drop – Friday, December 6th – 6pm to 9pm

NORTHVILLE CITY NEWS

  • Holiday Home Tour – November 22nd and 23rd – 10 am to 4 pm

    • This event is a great way to get new decorating ideas for your home while getting into the holiday spirit.  The tour features five beautiful, privately owned Northville homes that have been decorated top-to-bottom for the holidays. Each home is beautifully appointed and uniquely decorated. Home architecture ranges from a 1883 historical home and a condo with a studio loft to a farmhouse “glam” home just outside of downtown Northville. The tour features a refreshment stop at the Tipping Point Theatre where guests can enjoy light refreshments and enter a drawing to win two tickets to a future Tipping Point Theatre production.

      Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 on the day of the tour. Advance tickets are available at Pear-Aphernalia, Gardenviews, Haven of Northville, the Northville Chamber of Commerce, and online at www.northvillecommunityfoundation.org or by calling 248-374-0200. Tickets are limited.

  • Downtown Northville  Holiday Lighted Parade – Friday, November 22nd – 6:30 pm

    Join us for this community celebration that kicks off the holiday season. The festivities begin with the parade and the ceremonial lighting of the Christmas tree in Town Square.  Northville is decorated in holiday splendor to warm your hearts and get you in the holiday spirit. Visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, sip free hot chocolate, join in on the community sign-a-long and enjoy the special events planned.

  • Holiday Greens Market in Town Square – Saturday November 23rd – 10 am to 4 pm and Sunday November 24th – 10 am to 3 pm
    • If you are looking for beautiful holiday greens to decorate for the season, come to Town Square in downtown Northville.  The Greens Market is a local holiday favorite, ringing in each year with arrangements made of fresh greens and seasonal embellishments, wreaths and roping, seasonal baskets and much more.

    • Our finest china, silver and linens await you for a relaxing tea with your friends and family.   • Renée Hoag, Emerging Artist – October 4th through November 30th
    • Renée paints to show the possibilities of life, order or chaos. She has a love of everyday objects, and these are her subjects. She looks and studies each object or composition and asks herself, “What colors do I see? What temperature do I feel? And so on.” Renée immerses herself in what she is creating.  Renée’s favorite medium is what she is using at the time. Watercolor is exciting for its unpredictability whereas oils stay put and stay true to their color. As she defines, “Watercolors are like everyday life, and oils are like true friends.”
  • SMALL WORKS –  Juried All Media Exhibition – November 1st to 30th
    • Small Works will showcase 140 contemporary artworks on a diminutive scale, limited to 12 inches in any direction, in all types of media including painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, glass, ceramics, metalwork, mixed media and more. All works are for sale, the majority under $300, making them perfect holiday gifts.
  • Holiday Market – Friday, December 6th – noon to 8:30 pm and Saturday, December 7th – 10 am to 4 pm
    • The Holiday Market will be a vibrant and diverse artists market located in downtown Northville for the holiday season. The market will offer unique, handmade artwork and items by 15 Michigan artists.

    • Tree Lighting Ceremony – Tuesday, December 3rd – 11:15 am to 12:15 pm – Free
      • Come celebrate the start of the Holiday season at the tree lighting ceremony at Independence Village with over 7,000 lights on the beautifully decorated trees.  Enjoy some hot chocolate, sugar cookies and festive music to get in the holiday spirit.   Registration Deadline:  November 27th
    • Holiday Luncheon – Wednesday, December 11th – 11:30 to 1:00 pm – $13
      • Enjoy a catered meal with a taste of home while watching Balancing Earth as the Entertainment.  Registration Deadline:  November 27th
  • Field Trips and Tours
    • Meadowbrook Holiday Walk Group Tour and Lunch – Thursday, December 5th – 9:45 am to 2:45 pm – $52
      • Tour the elegant rooms of the grand manor decorated for the holidays.  After the tour, follow to wintry path to Knole Cottage and Danny’s Cottage (both of which are not wheelchair accessible unfortunately).  Registration Deadline:  November 20th
    • DSO the Vinyl Years – Friday January 19th – 9:30 am to 3 pm – $64
      • Classic Rocks biggest hits come alive in this symphonic tribute to the anthemic songs of the Doobie Brother, Fleetwood Mac, Styx, Kenny Loggins, Linda Ronstadt and more.   Lunch will be on your own with the group after the show in a restaurant to be determined.  Registration Deadline:  December 2nd

    • Senior Fit – Fridays Nov 8th to Dec 20th – 10:30 to 11:30 am or Tuesdays Nov 5th to Dec 17th – 5:15 to 6:15 pm – Free
      • Senior Fit is aimed at improving stamina, lowering blood pressure and decreasing the risk of osteoporosis among through regular exercise. Please register at the Senior Center desk for class. No walk-ins will be accepted and space is limited. 
    • Medicare Open Enrollment Individual Counseling – MMAP – Tuesday, November 19th – 10 am to 3 pm – Free
      • MMAP is the organization Medicare designated to provide objective counseling to Medicare recipients in Michigan.  Call 248-305-2851 for an appointment.  Bring your Medicare Card, list of medications and MyMedicare sign-in information.
    • Candy  Cane Mason Jar Arrangement – Friday, December 6th – 10:30 am to 11:30 am – $6 each
      • This festive arrangement of holiday flowers and decorative mason jar will brighten up your home or make a great gift for the holidays.  All items needed for the craft will be provided.  If you want to make more than one, you can pay for each at time of registration.  Registration deadline of November 27th
    • Cooking Demo -Monday December 16th – 11am to Noon – $2
      • Watch the Chef from Independence Village as he share his secrets as well as his recipes.  Enjoy appetizers while watching the demonstration and share in the finished product.  Registration deadline December 11th.

    • November 15th – Mary Poppins Returns,2018
      • The magic continues as Disney’s Classic Mary Poppins returns to help the Bank’s family remember the joy of being a child.  Together with her friend Jack the lamplighter, fun is brought back to the streets of London in a celebration of everything is possible…even the impossible.

    • Let’s do lunch! A local restaurant will be chosen and reserved for the group. Meet the group at 11:30 a.m. at the designated restaurant. Transportation and payment for your meal is on your own. Please register at the Northville Community Center desk in order to be included in the group reservation.

  • Every Christmas Story Ever Told (And Then Some) – November 14th through December 22nd
    • Every neighborhood has that one house that goes overboard with Christmas decorations. This play is that house. This holiday season, theatres across the world will be presenting their version of A Christmas Carol, but not us! Join three actors as they reminisce on all the holiday classics and international traditions that help bring the true spirit of Christmas to life. This hilarious holiday favorite was last presented at Tipping Point 10 seasons ago to sold out audiences and was the longest running show in our history. Christmas fanatics and Scrooges alike will light up with holiday spirit at Every Christmas Story Ever Told (And Then Some!), where anything can happen.  Purchase Tickets here
  • Olympus Fever – A cabaret fundraiser – December 27 & 28 at 8 pm – New Year’s Eve Event – December 31 at 9 pm
    • Tipping Point Theatre’s annual musical cabaret fundraiser is back! In this year’s production, Greek gods and goddesses navigate through their drama with the help of songs from your favorite artists of the 70’s. Will Zeus ever stay faithful to his wife, Hera? Will Hades and Persephone’s love conquer
      all? Is Poseidon the only god capable of resisting Aphrodite’s charms? Find out all this and more when you come see Olympus Fever in December! This year’s show tells a tale of Greek gods and goddesses, all set to music from the 1970s. Regular and cabaret seating is available for all performances.

Museum hours are Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Also, after Santa arrives in Kellogg Park on Friday, November 29, children will have the opportunity to visit the Museum from 6 – 8 p.m. to make & take Christmas decorations.  Museum admission will be free.
